Derby Riverlights
Introduction
Riverlights is a central venue in the heart of Derby, right by the river Derwent. It has recently been acquired by Starboard Hotels. Starboard are very excited about this collaboration, as their vision includes to be creative and resourceful, and to engage with and contribute to local community projects for their wellbeing and benefit.
For this exhibition, we are partnering with QUAD. QUAD is an international centre for engagement in contemporary art and film, focussing on major exhibitions, professional practice for artists, independent film and the creative use of emergent digital technologies.
QUAD, in partnership with the University of Derby, organises FORMAT International Photography Festival, which is one of the largest contemporary photography festivals in Europe. FORMAT, established in 2004, offers a year-round programme of commissions, open calls, residencies, conferences and global collaborations, it welcomes over 100,000 visitors from all over the world to its biennial.
QUAD Young Advocates, a group of 16 - 25 year olds, will create new work in response to the exhibition, which will be shared on the stories section of the website.
